Portrait photography is not just about choosing the right clothes and accessories or the perfect location for the shoot. It’s not only about the good collaboration between the photographer and the model, or how the model “reads” in front of the camera, nor just the correct camera settings. Proper digital editing of the image on the computer is also not enough. Portrait photography certainly includes all of the above, but above all, it is about light.

In this course, we will cover from the very beginning what to pay attention to, which lighting flatters and which can be harsh, and how to make proper use of natural or artificial light. We will use creative combinations of technique, lighting, and composition to produce original images. Working both in groups and individually, we will learn how to select our best photographs and use editing software for proper retouching.
