For years, we have been overwhelmed daily by images and countless opinions that glorify perfection. The aesthetics of the internet reject anything imperfect, different, peculiar, or “ugly.” But is there really ugliness in a wrinkle, in a crack of the soul, in an old wall, in a dry leaf, in an asymmetrical glance? Is there ugliness in the end?…
All of the above—and so much more—compose the very essence of humanity and nature; they are the unique truth and beauty of each one of us.
The images of the exhibition highlight these Im-perfections as captured through the lens of each photographer in the group, yet presented in a completely different way this year, using the method of installation. The workshop collective invites you to join them, to share in their attempt to reveal the essence of things—with an open mind and without prejudice.
Down with the dictatorship of fake perfection! Long live imperfections!
