The present project engages with the issues of absence and presence, of crowded places and isolation, time and the internal pace. The work is located in ordinary places of the present and also ruined settings of the past in my home country of Greece.

Static persons stand in front of the camera. Their apathetic pose either contrasts with the warm familiar sets (bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms) or emphasizes the abandoned ethos of the dilapidated buildings. Time is introduced by personal objects that repeatedly appear in the image. The breeze takes a scarf. That seems more active than its owner who is motionless, expressionless, and hopelessly detached. Concealed beneath all of the pictures, is a sense of romanticism and futility, a suspicion of doom. The atmosphere of this work is more important than trying to rationally appreciate the sequence and logic of the images.
