PARTICIPATION IN A GROUP EXHIBITION

Sharing

Participation in the group exhibition of the Photography School of Niki Spartali, co-organized with the South Aegean Region and with the kind support of the French Consular Authority of Rhodes, entitled “Sharing”.
The exhibition took place at the Auberge de France, on the Street of the Knights, in the Medieval City of Rhodes.

If the adversities of recent years have taught us anything, it is that humanity inevitably shares everything — especially crises and hardships (disease, war, economic insecurity, natural disasters). The same holds true on a personal level: from its very first steps on Earth, humankind has turned to others for comfort, companionship, help, and love.

This exhibition explores the theme of sharing, as interpreted through the eyes of each participating photographer. Everyday life, fleeting glances, memories, staged scenes, landscapes, play of light and shadow, and diversity — all came together in a creative mosaic that the group shared with the public, in the welcoming halls of the Auberge de France.

In the following project, presented as part of the “Sharing” exhibition, a mixed media technique was used. Photographs were printed and then further worked on with materials such as soil, water, ink, and more, before being re-photographed to create the final result.

I went through

I went through rainy days,
I joined in behind that
liquid barbwire
patiently and unnoticed,
like the trees’ pain
when their last leaf departs
and like the fear of thοse who are brave.
No, I am not sad.
